YEREVAN.- Armenian government dismissed reports about Premier Tigran Sargsyan’s possible appointment the first vice president of the Central Bank of Russia.

“We dismiss the reports,” spokesperson Harutyun Berberyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Aravot daily reported about possible appointment earlier on Tuesday.

“Specifically, several huge bankers, [and] businessmen, including the PM’s [university] classmate, Chairman [Alexey] Miller of the [Board of Directors of Russian energy] Gazprom Company, President Andrey Kostin of the CIS Finance and Banking Council, and others are lobbying in the RF for Tigran Sargsyan,” the newspaper wrote.
