YEREVAN. – A group of activists held a protest action in front of the Armenia’s Ministry of Justice on Friday. They were protesting against the statement by the Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan, who claimed that “sewing their mouth by the prisoners has become a common practice.”

The protest participants were holding posters, and refused to meet with the Minister. However, they passed him a letter, demanding that the Minister sew his mouth by himself or resign.

To note, Tovmasyan had told the journalists recently that the incidents in the penitentiary institutions when several prisoners had sewed their mouths do happen in all prisons in the world.
