YEREVAN. – Nobel Prize winners Tim Hunt and Martin Chalfie delivered public lectures in Armenia on Sunday. The event brought together over 180 young Armenian scientists and students specializing in biomedicine, molecular biology, and related areas of study. 

British scientist Tim Hunt’s lecture was devoted to cancer, whereas American specialist Martin Chalfie reflected on the green fluorescent protein, the Youth Foundation of Armenia Public Relations Service informs.

Along the lines of the Young Scientists’ Support Program, which is implemented under the auspices of the President of Armenia, the Nobel Prize recipients also attended a roundtable discussion, on Sunday evening, during which around thirty young natural scientists examined with Tim Hunt and Martin Chalfie the matters of interest to them.                   

The Nobel Prize winners noted that they are impressed by their visit to Armenia and they see a great potential in the country’s young scientists.
