YEREVAN. – You need to ask Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan whether or not the former ruling coalition’s memorandum—which includes the provision of supporting incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan in next year’s presidential elections—is still in force, the coalition government’s junior partner Orinats Yerkir (Rule of Law) Party (RLP) MP Hovhannes Margaryan stated during a press conference on Tuesday.   

Even though the Republican Party, PAP, and RLP had signed the aforesaid memorandum, it is yet unclear as to whom Tsarukyan will support in the elections.

“At present, the Republican Party and Orinats Yerkir have remained de facto members of the coalition. And Gagik Tsarukyan will announce his position soon, since very little time has remained before the presidential elections [which are slated for February 2013],” Margaryan noted.

To note, RLP has confirmed its intention to support Serzh Sargsyan in the voting.
