YEREVAN. – We are entering a very dynamic political period in Armenia and the presidential nominees will emerge within one month. But the opposition Heritage Party has already introduced its presidential nominee—namely, party chairman Raffi Hovannisian—, since it is not dependant on foreign players, Heritage’s Vice-Chairman Armen Martirosyan stated during a press conference on Wednesday.

Speaking on the fight against corruption, he said any step taken in this direction is welcome, albeit the President’s and the PM’s consultations are not considered to be a fight against corruption, but rather steps that could become a respective basis, or PR campaigns in the lead-up to next year’s presidential elections. 

Also, Armen Martirosyan proposed the establishment of one agency that will combat corruption and which will include the political opposition members as well.
