Experts from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, USA, based on a number of studies have come to the obvious conclusion that was very well known: during the selection of employees, employers prefer the people familiar to them, perhaps friends, even if they are not ideal candidates.
Experts interviewed 120 employers who hire staff in law and consulting firms, as well as investment banks. It turned out that in order to get the position, in case you are the friend of the employer, you need to have only a basic level of skills. The main role, in most cases, belongs to the good relationships with the employer, RBC daily reports.
According to experts, by doing so the employers subconsciously try to protect themselves.
