YEREVAN. – First President, and opposition bloc Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader, Levon Ter-Petrosyan was never silent but, instead, he simply does not give interviews yet he works, “People’s Power” social and political initiative founding member and ANC member Zoya Tadevosyan said during a press conference on Wednesday.      

According to her, Ter-Petrosyan is silent with us, but he is not silent with those whom he works with. Also, Tadevosyan did not rule out that Armenia’s political opposition could unite around a single candidate for the forthcoming presidential elections. “I see Levon Ter-Petrosyan as the evident single candidate,” she added assuring that ANC is a true opposition.   

Speaking about those that have left ANC, Tadevosyan noted that such people favor an abrupt change, whereas ANC is against change by way of unconstitutional means.

Reflecting on the ANC representatives’ statement that they are prepared to cooperate with everyone and the person is not important, Zoya Tadevosyan said: “They did not say [this] in that meaning. Otherwise, it would mean we can put Gevorik [in this case, it means “anyone”—Armenian News-NEWS.am] as president.”
