YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) could not have become uncontrollable because they know who created it and for what purpose, opposition Republic Party Political Board member Suren Abrahamyan said during a press conference on Thursday. 

Abrahamyan stated that Armenia’s political arena has become deserted, that there aren’t any considerable favorites for next February’s presidential elections, and, if no force majeure events or circumstances occur, incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan will move ahead.

Also, the Republic Party member ruled out second President Robert Kocharyan’s return to politics.        

To the question as to whether opposition bloc Armenian National Congress leader—and First President—Levon Ter-Petrosyan will be able to make the people get more active if he runs in the elections, Abrahamyan said: “There is disappointment among the people. I doubt that those high-flying days will come again. If Levon Ter-Petrosyan would say that they have come out to dismantle this kleptocracy, the voters will support them. But if Serzh Sargsyan would say the same, they will support Serzh Sargsyan.”
