YEREVAN.- The idea of regime change may consolidate the opposition, Heritage Party member Stepan Safaryn told reporters on Thursday.

He believes the society lacks trust towards elections and the statements made by several parties in fact complicated the situation.

Another risk in the nomination of a single candidate from the opposition is to have different political views.

“If the political forces decide to discard differences for a common goal, as they did in 2008,  the problem will be easily solved,” Safaryan added.

The leader of Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian has already announced his candidacy.
