YEREVAN.- Conflict in Syria will be resolved by 2013, Armenian expert in Arabic studies said.

Sargis Grigoryan is confident that Bashar Assad will yield power and step down. He said Assad maintains his positions thanks to the allies.

“Assad is capable of resisting the opposition which receives considerable support, but it is not enough to overthrow the ruling regime,” he told reporters on Friday

Sargis Grigoryan noted that long protraction in settlement of the Syrian crisis weakens positions of the government, but in fact the regime continues controlling the armed conflict.
