YEREVAN. – Robert Aharonyan, who intends to run for president in next February’s presidential elections in Armenia, confessed that he is unknown; he stated this during a press conference on Saturday.  

The Armenian-Russian Union Chairman plans to compensate this with socialism, which is known. In his words, those candidates that will preach capitalism during the elections can be considered the main challengers of the supporters of socialism. 

Aharonyan stated that seventy percent of Armenia’s voters will cast their ballots in his favor. “And I asked for the AMD 8 million [approx. $19,725] election deposit from the [ruling] Republican Party of Armenia [RPA]. If RPA refuses my request, that will be their moral defeat,” the presidential hopeful stressed.      

Also, Robert Aharonyan presented the provisions of his election program, according to which, if he is elected president, Armenia will become one of the architects behind the union of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC), and the country will take the road to the creation of the second USSR.

“And with respect to domestic policy, 51 percent of the economy will be in the hands of the state, and the small and medium-size business will be exempt from taxes,” Aharonyan concluded.
