YEREVAN. – Birth rate decreased by three percent in Armenia in nine months of 2012 as compared with the same period last year.
Head of demography and census department at the National Statistical Service of Armenia Karine Kuyumjyan said 30,906 children were born during this period as compared with 31,854 last year. Mortality rate also fell.
During nine months 13,828 marriages were registered in Armenia. The number of divorce cases increased by 3.1 percent.
