YEREVAN.- Freedom Party nominated former PM Hrant Bagratyan as a presidential candidate. The decision was made during the party’s congress held on Monday.
“I think the decision will not affect relationship with Levon Ter-Petrosyan [leader of the Armenian National Congress bloc]. We have good relations with him,” member of the party Vardan Margaryan said.
Last week Hrant Bagratyan voiced an intention to run for president. He promised to withdraw his candidacy in case ANC leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan is nominated.
Freedom Party is a part of the opposition Armenian National Congress bloc.
