YEREVAN.— Armenia’s Education Minister, deputy chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia Armen Ashotyan commented on opposition leader’s intention not to run in presidential elections.

Leader of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc, and First President, Levon Ter-Petrosyan said he would not run for president in the elections to be conducted on February 18, 2013.

“I read an interview of Levon Ter-Petrosyan. Well, a star is a star, even when it is fading away. He is trying to fall with dignity. At the same time he tried to respond to all issues causing criticism. However, one question remains unanswered. Didn’t the ANC and its leader anticipate the “age” factor during the previous five-year work, and they recalled the passport data only two months ahead of the election?” Ashotyan wrote on his Facebook.
