YEREVAN. – During its General Assembly convened on Tuesday, Armenia’s opposition ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party decided on the format of its participation in the forthcoming presidential elections. But the respective decision was kept strictly confidential, Haykakan Zhamanak daily reports.

“Nonetheless, there were rumors in the evening that ARF decided to nominate ARF [Supreme Body] SB Vice-Representative, ARF [National Assembly] NA Faction Secretary Aghvan Vardanyan as presidential candidate.

Dashnaktsutyun will publicize its decision during the press conference slated for today [Wednesday].

It is noteworthy that, hitherto, primarily [ARF SB representative and MP] Armen Rustamyan’s candidacy was spoken about within Dashnaktsutyun, [and] also, the option of boycotting the elections was not ruled out,” Haykakan Zhamanak writes.
