YEREVAN. – “We are already here, in Armenia,” the French Carrefour hypermarket chain’s Armenia center manager Vatche Arsene told Zhamanak daily.

“He noted that it is not yet clear when the center will open, but reassured that Carrefour will operate in Armenia

To note, Carrefour announced a contest for employment in Armenia and it is recruiting staff for its future shopping center [in the country]. In all likelihood, the center will be located at [capital city Yerevan’s] Dalma Garden Mall, where the Carrefour sign is placed to this day.

The Carrefour hypermarket chain itself imports its merchandise, and [therefore] the Armenian oligarchs will no longer be able to dictate prices,” Zhamanak writes.
