Georgian president reacts to defeating of his veto

TBILISI. – Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili commented on the parliament’s defeating of his veto calling it shameful fact, and warned that the parliament is contributing to the deterioration of the state of crime in the country and is “inspiring the spies.”     

“I am confident that this law will be written in the shameful list of the history of Georgia,” Saakashvili said Friday evening. 

“[With this law,] The parliament [of Georgia] will release all Russian spies whom we had exposed,” the president stated, Novosti Gruzia News Agency reports.

To note, the Georgian parliament defeated, on Friday evening, President Mikheil Saakashvili’s veto on the Law on Amnesty, which assumes the declaration of a large-scale amnesty in Georgia. Saakashvili had vetoed the section on this law that referred to political prisoners and pedophiles.
