The Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin B confirmed the proposal to meet with the Chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Allahshukur Pashazade.

The proposal was referred Primate of the Armenian Diocese of Georgia Bishop Vazgen Mirzahanyan during the visit of Allahshukur Pashazade to Georgia. Armenian News-NEWS.am was informed by the spokesperson of the Armenian Apostolic Church Vahram Melikyan, the first offer to organize a meeting on the border, in Karabakh, was voiced by the Catholicos of All Armenians during the November 2011 meeting with the Patriarch of Moscow and chairman of the Caucasus Muslims. The trilateral meeting took place in the framework of the Council of Religious Leaders of the CIS countries.

“That is when it was proposed to organize the next meeting in Artsakh, on the border,” Vahram Melikyan said, adding that during the current visit of the chairman of the Caucasus Muslims to Georgia, the proposal on behalf of the Catholicos of All Armenians was reiterated by Vazgen Mirzakhanian.

“The proposal includes meeting with representatives of the intelligentsia,” Vahram Melikyan highlighted.

According to the Azerbaijani media, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Pashazade in response noted that the meeting is only possible with the consent of the political leadership of Azerbaijan.
