YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) officials cannot decide in any way as to when they will call upon the party members to vote freely, in the forthcoming presidential elections, and whether or not they should actually make such call, Hraparak daily reports.  

“PAP assures that the last meeting of [its] political board was convened on December 12, where [PAP Chairman Gagik] Tsarukyan’s well-known statement [on PAP not running in the election and not supporting any candidate] is publicized. As per Tsarukyan’s spokeswoman Iveta Tonoyan, no political board meeting was held afterwards.   

To our query that numerous PAP Political Board members [, however,] claim that PAP Political Board meetings are not held for a long time and no political board meeting was held likewise on December 12, [and] that they had not attended [that meeting] and had heard about the [aforesaid] statement from the press, Iveta Tonoyan countered: ‘Naturally, it is not so; a meeting was held.’ 

And is it true that Gagik Tsarukyan likewise will support [the ruling Republican Party candidate, incumbent President] Serzh Sargsyan [in the February 18 vote] and he is the person in charge [for Sargsyan] of Kotayk Region while [the region’s City of Abovyan Mayor] Karapet Guloyan is the person in charge [for Sargsyan] of Abovyan city? 

‘Your observation with respect to Gagik Tsarukyan is a classic disinformation,’ the spokeswoman said,” Hraparak writes.
