YEREVAN. – The 2012 Armenian State Budget spending in the defense sector comprised close to $400 million, thereby ensuring the program’s fulfillment by 98.8 percent. 

First Deputy Finance Minister and Chief Treasurer Atom Janjughazyan stated the aforesaid during the National Assembly committees’ joint session devoted to the 2012 Budget performance report.

Armenia’s expenditures in this sector have increased by 5 percent as compared to the previous year, and primarily due to the increased spending for the military needs.

The allocations for the institute of Armenia’s military attachés comprised 97.8 percent of this program.

In addition, the foreign military assistance spending surpassed the 2011 indicator by 6.8 percent.
