YEREVAN. – An effort was made in 2012 to introduce the American policing model in Armenia.  

Deputy Police Chief Arthur Osikyan noted the abovementioned on Wednesday, during the National Assembly committees’ joint session, presenting Armenia’s 2012 Budget performance report in the law enforcement system.   

He informed that activities were conducted to establish community policing, and eleven police centers were set up in capital city Yerevan. 

As per Osikyan, the 2012 Budget allocations to Police were fulfilled by close to 97.7 percent.      

Deputy Police Chief also noted that the newly established “Angels” squad of the police will enlarge.
