YEREVAN. – Armenia is an exemplary country in terms of small and medium-sized businesses and the excellent implementation of women’s entrepreneurship programs, for which it received a high evaluation by the shareholders of the Asian Development Bank (ADB). 

ADB Vice-President Xiaoyu Zhao noted the aforesaid during his talk with Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan on Tuesday. 

“We have passed a long way together. We broaden the domains of our cooperation, we try to promote the development of private business, and we also advance our primary—“North-South” Road Corridor—investment program,” Sargsyan said in his welcoming remarks.  

The PM also underscored the forthcoming business forum, in terms of introducing Armenia’s investment opportunities to the private sector. 

In his turn, the ADB vice-president gave details on his talks with Armenia’s economy and transport and communication ministers. He also informed that he got familiar with the construction of the above-said road corridor.    

The interlocutors reflected on the projects that are implemented in the margins of Armenia-ADB cooperation.

Xiaoyu Zhao stated that the Asian Development Bank looks toward continuing the relations with Armenia, and it stands ready to do more to improve the investment climate in Armenia and to attract additional investments to the country.
