YEREVAN. – Armenia’s European Union (EU) accession talks are not planned in a foreseeable future.
Ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP, RPA Executive Committee member, and National Assembly former Speaker Samvel Nikoyan noted the abovementioned during a press conference on Thursday.
“At this phase, the initialing of the Association Agreement with EU and the deepening of cooperation in this direction are tasked before the leadership of Armenia,” the MP stressed.
In his words, the initialing of the Armenia-EU Association Agreement will not affect Russia’s political interests in South Caucasus, at least with regard to Armenia.
“The current level of Armenian-Russian relations is irreplaceable,” Samvel Nikoyan concluded.
