YEREVAN. – The Government of Armenia on Thursday approved the revised report on compliance to the European Social Charter.
Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan introduced the respective account.
The report presents the labor law reforms that were conducted in Armenia between 2009 and 2012, specifically, the changes that are made in country’s Labor Code.
As a result, and with few exceptions, the working week in Armenia shall not exceed forty hours, and the working days, eight hours.
In addition, the overtime work limitations have changed substantially. Accordingly, the overtime work in Armenia shall not exceed 180 hours per year.
To note, however, a 24-hour work schedule is allowed for several professions.
