YEREVAN. – President Serzh Sargsyan on Thursday received Italian Ambassador Bruno Scapini, who is ending his diplomatic mission in Armenia.
Sargsyan thanked the ambassador for his considerable work toward the strengthening of relations between the two countries. The President recorded that the Armenian-Italian political discourse has become more active and the economic relationships have intensified. As per Sargsyan, effective cooperation has formed between both countries in several other domains, too.
The President and the ambassador agreed that Armenia and Italy also enjoy close interparliamentary contacts, and decentralized cooperation is developing with success.
Considering it an honor to have served in Armenia, Ambassador Scapini stressed that he discovered Armenia in a new light over the past years, and sensed how close the Armenians and the Italians are, and how much Armenia and Italy have in common.
Bruno Scapini stressed that, even though his diplomatic mission in Armenia has come to an end, his personal mission of being helpful to Armenia and the Armenian people has not ended.
