YEREVAN. – By achieving some results and receiving answers to questions in the matter of Eurasian integration, Ukraine expressed a clear position.

Non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP and PAP Press Secretary Tigran Urikhanyan told the abovementioned to reporters on Saturday.

Urikhanyan commented on the Ukrainian government’s recent decision to suspend its preparations for the signing of the European Union (EU) Association Agreement.

As per the PAP MP, back in April, when Ukraine’s association talks with the EU were still in progress, it already was apparent that the Ukrainian side had presented its economic interests within the framework of the Customs Union, and its political interest in the Eurasian integration processes.

In response to a query as to whether or not Russia may have applied pressure on Ukraine so as not to go ahead with the EU association, Urikhanyan noted that Ukraine, with a population of 44 million, is the biggest country in Europe, and it has corresponding transit and several other opportunities.

“I do not think it is a country that can be easily pressured,” Tigran Urikhanyan stressed.
