YEREVAN. – The tragedy is that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s visits remain more protocol in Armenia than those by the presidents of any other country, or even those by the Armenian president.  

Opposition Heritage Party Board Secretary Stiopa Safaryan noted the abovementioned at a press conference on Tuesday.

In his words, Putin’s forthcoming visit to Armenia needs to be completed with specific results for Russia.

“The results were the reason why Putin was not in a hurry to come to Armenia. But, now, the road map, whereby Armenia will have to join the Customs Union, is prepared,” Safaryan stated. 

As per Heritage’s official, blackmail against the national interests was made to both Armenia and Ukraine.

“In Armenia’s case, they indirectly implied that we would have problems with national security. If, God forbid, the war resumes, threats [would be made] with [respect to] the [Russia-supplied natural] gas price, etc.,” Stiopa Safaryan concluded.
