YEREVAN. – Armenia entered a phase on September 3, and this is the most critical phase over the course of our independent statehood and history.
Political opposition member Davit Shahnazaryan, who is Director of Concord Center for Legal and Political Studies, noted the aforesaid at a press conference on Tuesday.
“By announcing [on that day] that Armenia is entering the [Russian-led] Customs Union, [Armenian President] Serzh Sargsyan mandated Russia to govern Armenia. The Customs Union accession is unconstitutional, and with that we will lose our sovereignty. And, now, a process goes which will result in Armenia becoming a part of the Russian Empire,” Shahnazaryan stated.
In his view, Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin is getting ready to visit not Armenia, but rather the Russian military base stationed in Armenia’s Gyumri city and the surrounding area of this military base. According to Davit Shahnazaryan, Putin believes that, by visiting Armenia, he actually will be visiting an RF region.
He also stressed that they will enter a new phase of struggle, which they will succeed in and, as a result, Armenia will have equal relationships with Russia.
