Regular national elections to British House of Commons will be held on May 6, 2010, said British Premier Gordon Brown after the meeting with Her Excellency Queen Elizabeth II this Tuesday, BBC reports.

“Her Excellency kindly agreed to dissolve parliament and set national elections at May 6,” Brown informed.

According to him, in the weeks ahead his fellows from Labour party and himself will head to various concessions of the country to run election campaign.

The parliament will be finally dissolved on Monday, April 12 and 5-year term of incumbent parliament expires this June.
