The parliament of Kazakhstan on Thursday ratified the agreement on neighborliness and alliance with Russia in the 21st century, Kazakhstan News agency reported.    

The objective of this agreement is to further strengthen Russian-Kazakh partnership.

“The parties will develop collaboration as equal and sovereign states. 

“Pursuant to the agreement, the parties will not join alliances or unions which are directed against one of them,” the respective statement reads, in particular. . 

It also notes that the parties will contribute to the further strengthening of the Customs Union and the Common Economic Space, but without damaging political sovereignty.     

To note, Armenia signed, on October 10 in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, the treaty on accession to the Eurasian Economic Union, whose founding members are Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
