YEREVAN. – In Armenia, the world-renowned French Carrefour hypermarket chain wishes to face the competition in the Eurasian Union region.
The Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management Limited’s Marketing and Merchandise Department GM, Laurent Nazet, told about the abovementioned to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
He noted that there is little information so far on the business-conducting conditions in the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, and therefore feedback with the government agencies is very important for the company.
“The important thing for us is to strengthen our presence in the Armenian market, including in light of possible foreign competition.
“Wherever possible, we also want to assist local manufacturers by collaborating with them,” Nazet added.
Dubai-based Majid Al Futtaim Concern deals with the Carrefour chain’s development in the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa. Armenia likewise is within the area of responsibility of this concern, and Majid Al Futtaim Asset Management is its subsidiary in Armenia.
