YEREVAN. – Today, the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) will vote in favor of this treaty because voting against it today will harm the interests of Armenia.

Non-pro-government PAP National Assembly (NA) Faction member and PAP Spokesperson Tigran Urikhanyan announced the aforesaid. He noted this at Thursday’s NA deliberations with respect to the ratification of the treaty on Armenia’s planned accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union.

“Today, we are discussing a matter which is essentially resolved.

“We [, the PAP,] are not voting in favor of the steps which the authorities have taken; not at all. They could and should have been better.

“We are voting ‘for’ [this treaty so as] not to harm Armenia at the moment, [and] for Armenia’s future opportunities, which may be if the authorities in Armenia persistently and consistently protect the interests of the Republic of Armenia,” Urikhanyan specifically stated.
