YEREVAN. – The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) welcomes the country’s integration to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
RPA National Assembly Faction Head Vahram Baghdasaryan noted the aforementioned. He stated this at Thursday’s NA deliberations with respect to the ratification of the treaty on Armenia’s planned accession to the aforementioned Russia-led Union, and while presenting his faction’s position on this treaty.
He added that this accession’s economic benefits to Armenia are apparent, and these benefits are the opportunity to purchase Russian goods without the export duties which this country imposes.
“And this will help raise the competitiveness of Armenian products,” Baghdasaryan added.
As for the political component, the RPA MP stated that the Nagorno-Karabakh issue is not mentioned in this document, and therefore there is no need to make speculations on betraying the interests of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
Thursday’s parliamentary voting on the ratification of Armenia’s EEU accession treaty is slated for 5pm.
