YEREVAN. – Over 2,000 complaints against Armenia were filed to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) from 2002 till September 2014, Armenia's Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan said.

Kostanyan, Armenia's representative and ECHR, said he is acting as an advocate of a state, but his obligations are wider than that of a simple advocate. Representative of the government, must contribute to introduction of European standards in the country, Kostanyan added.

“As of November 1, 2014, 49 judgments related to Armenia were made,” he said.

He added that under the decisions of the ECHR involving Armenia, as of November 1, 2014 claims for compensation amounting to around 15 million. 260 thousand euro were submitted, and 3.8 percent out of the amount was paid. t
