YEREVAN. – The Armenia-Georgia free trade agreement will be maintained, customs duties will not be levied, and there will be zero duty between the two countries.

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia National Assembly (RPA NA) Faction member Vardan Ayvazyan, who is also Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs, stated about the aforesaid at a press conference on Monday.

In his words, the fact that Armenia is joining the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), whereas Georgia has signed the European Union Association Agreement has absolutely nothing to do with the abovementioned.

“The EEU cooperation does not close our road, and these two unions cannot be contradistinguished,” the RPA MP added.

Vardan Ayvazyan also underscored the prospect for the construction of the Georgia-Armenia Friendship Bridge.
