YEREVAN. – The European Union has not applied any restrictions against Armenia, head of EU delegation to Armenia Traian Hristea said.

His comment came in response to a question about EU's possible response, in case Armenia joins the Russian retaliatory sanctions against the European Union, given the statement by Russian FM Sergei Lavrov on the possibility of such developments within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union.

Hristea preferred avoiding assessments based on assumptions, adding that restrictions are not of permanent character.

“As soon as conditions leading to restrictive measures are eliminated, the measures will be removed as well,” Hristea said.

The EU ambassador stressed that the Union have not applied restrictions against Armenia.

“People know what they must do. I hope everything will be over as soon as possible,” he resumed.
