YEREVAN. – The regime of cargo transportation from Armenia to the rest territory of the Eurasian Economic Union has not been fully clarified yet, chairman of the Association of Armenian Freight Forwarders Herbert Hambardzumyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Russia has internal problems with Customs Convention on the International Transport of Goods, he said.
“It is the problem of their customs, an internal problem. They accept foreign goods, but without TIR Carnet. There is no need to do a separate insurance payment at the border. But I do not see the difference between paying $110 for TIR Carnet or paying insurance fee at the customs,” he said.
Asked whether the Russian customs requires payments of all or part of consignment, Hambardzumyan replied that there is hardly anyone who can answer the question at the moment.
“I can only say one thing: this is an uncut watermelon. But in general, I think, conditions will be good for our carriers. Simply some questions remain unanswered yet,” he added.
