Lernik Alexanyan, MP of Armenian Republical Party faction, asserted there is no alternative but to return the territories surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh in exchange for Karabakh's independence.

“A security zone will be established once Artsakh wins independence. Yes, I will gain if previously Azerbaijani territories are returned. We haven't seized them. No one would say we wanted the lands to be Armenian,” said Alexanyan pointing out that Shushi is an exception.

“I don't think it has already been decided which regions and in what status will be returned to Azerbaijan or will be part of the security zone.”

He reckons not a single Armenian including RA President Serzh Sargsyan will be willing to return many regions to Azerbaijan.
