American scientists have discovered that eye color may be linked to alcohol dependence.
According to a new study by researchers at the University of Vermont, people with blue eyes might have a greater chance of becoming alcoholics. In addition, people with light-colored eyes also belong to this risk group.
The researchers, however, still cannot explain this link.
The head of this research team, Dawei Li, noted that the only thing clear at this point is that the genetic components that determine eye color line up along the same chromosome as the genes related to excessive alcohol use, reported Planet Today.
