YEREVAN. – The Minister of Education and Science of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, chaired an interdepartmental consultation.

The discussants conferred on the proposal for the 2016 State Budget request within the framework of the research and science and technology activity plan.

The increase in the respective budget allocations will be primarily directed at payment of the membership fee to the Horizon 2020 Programme for Research and Innovation of the European Union (EU), and with the expectation that Armenia will be included in the Horizon 2020 grant programs.

The interdepartmental commission approved the said budget request. Now, it will be submitted to the Government of Armenia, where it will be finalized and introduced to the National Assembly for debates.
