Anti-Armenian racism – hysterical, reckless, heated and dangerous – is constantly felt in Azerbaijan, French philosopher and novelist Michel Onfray, who visited Azerbijan this June, told the French-Armenian magazine Nouvelles d'Arménie.

The philosopher visited Azerbaijan upon the invitation of his friend Pierre Thilloy, a composer who writes modern music. Referring to the impressions from this trip, Onfray said he didn’t wish to inform the details due to his friendship. “But I had a strong feeling of discomfort,” he said.

Responding to the question on whether he felt anti-Armenian racism in Azerbaijan, the philosopher said: “Constantly… It was hysterical, reckless, heated and dangerous.” To the question on whether he supports the right of Nagorno-Karabakh to self-determination, Michel Onfray responded: “Apparently, yes.”
