YEREVAN. – The wheat yield in Armenia has substantially increased in the current year, said Minister of Agriculture Sergo Karapetyan, at a press conference on Wednesday.

As per the minister, at present—that is, one week before the end of harvest, the average yield of wheat makes up 33 centners, and more.

“We have gathered data on the demand for grain [in the country]; the total amount of demands is 3,900 tons,” added Karapetyan. “We import seeds primarily from Russia; on the whole, the yield was managed to be increased thanks to them and our national programs.”
