Former President of Turkey Abdullah Gül stated that he considers the pressure on the country’s media to be wrong.

Gül, reflecting on the recent Turkish police operations and investigations against the media, said such state repression against the media causes unpredictable damages to Turkey, reported Birgün daily of the country.

“I find the pressures against the press to be wrong,” said Gül.

In recent days, the Turkish prosecutor’s office and police have conducted operations against several media, and confiscated a large amount of documents and computers.
