YEREVAN. – The frequency of ceasefire violations on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border has reduced.

The Information and Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia has informed about the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

In their words, even though Azerbaijan fires irregular shots at the border area, the Armenian side is in control of the situation.  

Situation on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border was tense for several days since September 1. Azerbaijan was firing shots at the border villages in the Tavush Province in Armenia, on a regular basis.

Following the Armenian and Russian presidents’ talk that was held Monday in Moscow, however, the situation has calmed.
