The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Edward Nalbandian, on Thursday met in London with the United Kingdom (UK) Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, John Whittingdale.

First, Nalbandian highly praised Whittingdale’s activities in the previous UK House of Commons as head of the British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group. The Minister also thanked the British official for attending the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations that were held on April 24 in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Subsequently, the interlocutors reflected on the avenues for broadening Armenian-British cultural cooperation.

The Armenian FM also visited the UK Parliament, where he met with House of Lords’ members Caroline Cox and Henry Harrison. The parties discussed Armenian-British parliamentary collaboration, and the activities toward the setting up of the new British-Armenian All-Party Parliamentary Group.

On the same day, Edward Nalbandian also got together with members of the coordination committee for the Armenian Genocide Centennial commemorations in the UK. They exchanged views on the genocide 100th anniversary events in Armenia and abroad.
