YEREVAN. – The tensions on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border in early September were different from the previous ones, since this time Azerbaijan had changed the weaponry it was using.
“European Integration” NGO Chairman, political scientist Karen Bekaryan, stated the aforesaid at a press conference on Friday.
In his words, such types of weapons were not used before, and this has become the “rule of the game” for Azerbaijan.
“Foreign policy has a direct link with internal political developments,” said Bekaryan. “Consequently, it is naive to expect that intolerance on the border will not grow in case of internal intolerance in Azerbaijan.”
The NGO official added, however, that international organizations are also accountable for the current situation because they attempt to “smooth out” everything, whereas they likewise must take responsibility.
