YEREVAN. – The Turkish community in Belgium needs help in recognizing the Armenian Genocide.

Member of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region, Simone Susskind, said the abovementioned on Saturday in the National Assembly of Armenia.

“We see that Armenian Genocide denial has become a part of Turkish identity, and we are very aware of the importance of helping the Turkish community in Belgium on the issue of recognition,” noted Susskind. “[But] it’s difficult to restore in one day what was denied for one hundred years.”

In the Belgian MP’s words, however, the respective task will be more effective if Belgium were to invite the Turkish intellectuals who stand for Armenian Genocide recognition.
