Serving Mayor Suren Grigoryan has won Sunday’s mayoral election in Stepanakert, the capital city of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR; Artsakh).

Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned the aforesaid from the NKR Central Electoral Commission.

According to preliminary results, the incumbent mayor received 10,686 votes, whereas the other mayoral candidate, Artsakh Communist newspaper editor Aris Grigoryan, amassed 3,303 ballots.

Even though there were 37,455 eligible voters, solely 15,434 of them cast their votes in Stepanakert.

Local government elections were held Sunday in 207 communities in the NKR.
