STEPANAKERT. - Over 16,000 foreign tourists visited Karabakh in 2015, which exceeds the last year indicators by 13 percent. Karabakh’s Deputy Minister of Economy Sergey Shahverdyan told the aforementioned to Armenian News – NEWS.am correspondent.
“It should be mentioned that the statistics includes only the foreign state citizens: tourists with Armenian passports aren’t registered upon entering Karabakh,” the Deputy Minister said.
In his words, the top five international tourist arrivals according to countries traditionally include Russia, U.S., France, Iran and Ukraine. 60 percent of tourist visits is ensured by the CIS countries, mainly at the expense of tourists from Russia.
