An Azerbaijani agency managed to ascribe a “non-existing” statement to the U.S. Embassy in Baku.
Haqqin.az agency posted an article that contained categorical statements allegedly made by the U.S. embassy on Karabakh issue.
As the statement was inconsistent with the diplomacy ethics, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent contacted the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan to clarify whether the publication contained a real statement.
After sending an inquiry to Baku, the U.S. Embassy in Yerevan said they were informed that the diplomatic mission in Baku had not received any inquiry from haqqin.az and therefore there could be no answer.
The Embassy in Baku supposed that the media could have misinterpreted an excerpt of a statement made by the State Department representative.
